Fairway and AWI Honor a Massachusetts Organization

A Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation branch in Worcester, Massachusetts partnered with the American Warrior Initiative (AWI) to honor an organization that helps U.S. veterans by training and providing service dogs. In addition, a residential housing “boot camp” was held to train real estate professionals and mortgage planners on how to best handle the home-purchase needs of active duty military members and veterans.

U.S. Army veteran Barry Esteves spoke at the event about his personal experiences, including his important belief that “service dogs not only save lives; they save families.” As Esteves shared, his service dog, Apollo, stood by his side.

Fairway Independent Mortgage and AWI joined in honoring NEADS — the organization from which Esteves received Apollo — with a grant of $10,000. Based in Massachusetts, NEADS trains and provides service dogs not only for U.S. veterans, but for deaf and disabled children and adults.

Mortgage planner Bill Murphy had a fantastic time at this AWI event, saying:

AWI is a great experience for all who attend. Louise Thaxton is an incredible motivator and speaker with endless energy! She inspires agents and helps them understand the importance of working with our veterans. Louise motivates our agents to ‘serve those who serve us,’ and brings a greater understanding and enthusiasm to all who attend. Sean Parnell brings his own personal experience to each event and is a great inspiration to all. A check was presented to the NEADS foundation for service dogs to be purchased and trained.”

Co-founded by Thaxton and Parnell, the American Warrior Initiative is a non-profit organization sponsored by Fairway Independent Mortgage. AWI seeks to ease U.S. veterans’ transition from military to civilian life.

I am proud to work for a company that does so much to honor those who sacrifice for our country. If I can help answer any questions about VA loans or other home loan options, please give me a call.
